Daily Data: Discounters make a move or getting moved on?
China is, once again, good at consumer apps
New data on discounters and dollar stores . . . but what does it mean?
Everything reads better in your browser or in the app. The footnotes especially, and Random Walk is really leaning into the footnotes. Plus, if you have the app, you can set delivery to “app only” and then my daily barrage will feel less like a barrage. Are discounters making a move?
Random Walk doesn’t really try to understand consumer businesses, so much as observe them in order to learn what they understand about us.
In this case, back-to-school shopping is over and the discounters are kicking off some credit card data worth attending to.
