YouTube is under-monetized (reprise)

Short-form video is everywhere, and it’s increasingly the go-to growth move for content and marketing.

Anyways, because youtube just announced that shorts now had revenue parity with the rest of youtube, it’s another reminder that YouTube is under-monetized.

YT gets the most attention

YouTube gets the most viewer time in the US:

BofA

That’s 6 billion hours of watch time for YouTube, which is by far the most for any platform.

Not only is YouTube more watched than Facebook and Insta combined, it’s also growing the most yoy at 7%.1

The biggest is getting bigger at the biggiest rate. Still, there is plenty of room to grow.
